Offering specialized support to new families is something that has always come naturally to Abbey. With over 20 years of infant feeding education and support, leadership with non-profit organizations, a medical background and 18 years working in childbirth support, you won't find a more knowledgeable doula in Tarrant County. Abbey has a broad range of experience and education in pregnancy, childbirth, and infant care and as a doula trainer. Abbey has 4 children (22, 20, 13, & 9) and lives in historic Fairmount, less than a mile from Harris, Baylor and JPS. When she isn't working, you'll find her riding one of her bicycles or planning her next travel spot, living each day to the fullest.

Abbey is CPR and first aid certified and up to date on vaccines. She also works part time for DFW Thermography as a Certified Clinical Thermographer.
In Feb of 2010, Megan attended her first birth in a support role and knew she was exactly where she was supposed to be. She originally trained with DONA (Doulas of North America) and most recently ProDoula. Megan has volunteered for various birth and family support organizations over the years. Her favorite part of doula work is sharing her experiences and knowledge so that new parents can grow with confidence.  In her professional and personal life, Megan is an outspoken advocate for LGBTQ equality and support. She lives in Arlington with her family, (6 kids - 4 biological) 2 dogs, a cat and a snake.

Megan is CPR and first aid certified and up to date on vaccines.
Caring for new babies and mothers has been a lifelong passion for Bonnie. She has been caring for babies for over 25 years. One of those babies is now a grown woman and has hired Bonnie to attend 2 of her births so far! With all her years of experience it’s no wonder people call her “The Baby Whisperer”. Bonnie had a very long, difficult labor with her first and experienced firsthand the importance of a skilled and supportive birth team. She loves to provide other mothers with that same level of care during pregnancy, labor and delivery and during the postpartum period. Bonnie is an inclusive birth worker that has experience with multiples, preemies, siblings, peaceful sleep training and scheduling, and is CPR certified. She is also a documentary style photographer focusing on births, women, children and families.

How it began... Abbey became impassioned for supporting others during her own difficult transition into motherhood in 1996. Having very little support as a young mother left her feeling very lost and alone. She realized that there was a real lack of information and education for moms like her. She spent all her free time voraciously consuming any childbirth related information she could get her hands on.  In 1999 there were only 3 doulas in Fort Worth, and she hired one of them.  Despite doing everything right during pregnancy, she still did not get the birth she envisioned... however, the support she received and her active role in the decisions made during labor were so empowering she quickly made the decision to become certified as a doula. She now serves families with the same compassionate care she received so long ago. In 2010, despite a complex medical history, Abbey had a completely natural VBA3C in Denton, TX with the support of her family, a doula, and Dr. Fred Cummings, for whom she runs a Facebook fan page.

Over the last two decades, Abbey has absorbed a plethora of information on all subjects birth and baby. Her practice has expanded into other areas where she felt she could be helpful to families including infant feeding, sleep, and a broad range of parenting subjects.

Abbey has a thirst for knowledge and passion for supporting others through the greatest transition in life, growing a family. She takes great pride in her work and brings great attention to detail and confidence along with her. She has personally attended hundreds of deliveries in hospitals around DFW and has supported many families from diverse cultures and special situations including traveling families, surrogacy, lgbtq families, multiples, breech vaginal deliveries, VBAC, gentle cesarean, complications of childbirth, and stillbirth and bereavement support.

Abbey has 4 children (22, 19, 12 and 8) and lives in the hospital district of Fort Worth. She loves animals and travel, is an avid cyclist and mediocre runner.
